| Fresh, luscious raspberries! |
It's as simple as bringing cream, sugar, and high quality cocoa powder to a boil, removing it from the heat, stirring in the raspberries and allowing them to sit for 10 minutes before blending and straining the seeds out - then pouring the fabulous results into an ice cream maker.
I've purchase a few ice cream cookbooks and none of the others compares to the recipes in "The Perfect Scoop." If you don't own a copy, this is the perfect time of year to get one!
Enjoy!

This looks delicious and I love how simple it is. Wish I had a scoop right now!
ReplyDeleteOh yum! You did it again Susan, made something amazingly delicious! If we were neighbors, I would be in a lot of trouble! I love that this has only four ingredients and some of my favorite, at that!
ReplyDeleteI've only tried twice to make ice cream but I've never been able to... I'll have to keep trying!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Susan, it looks divine, just what the dr ordered!!:)
ReplyDeleteThat looks perfect for summer!
ReplyDeleteLebovitz really knows his stuff! I have been trying to convince my husband to get us an ice cream maker, but our Brooklyn kitchen is at max capacity right now...I think I'll have to sacrifice some other appliances for the obviously much more important ice cream maker.
ReplyDeleteWhen simple recipes taste so good, especially ice cream, there ought to be a celebration...with ice cream! I can´t wait for fresh raspberries. I hope I remember by then what I wanted to make.
ReplyDeleteAmazon visits me regularly so this is no time to stop that habit. Today I received "iPhone 4S for Dummies". And since many of you are suggesting "The Perfect Scoop", I just ordered it. I love reading Lebovitz. This past weekend, my granddaughters and I made his Mint Chocolate Ice Cream, using up ever Mint leaf I had in the garden (a lot). It was fun to make and unbelievably delicious. Am enjoying The Café Sucré Farine Blog so very much. Did you see her recipe for Fresh Herb Chimichurri Sauce? I am definitely doing that. I brought my ice cream maker to Aspen, where I'll be for a month, so will probably be "forced" to try the chocolate raspberry flavor.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I will enjoy this! wonderful ice cream
ReplyDeleteMary x
