Caramel in the making!
My friend, Karen's daughter made some salted caramel cookies a few months ago and she sent some to work for me. I was so touched and loved the combination of salt and caramel. So, I made these Sweet & Salty Brownies from Baked Explorations for Karen's birthday and shared them with our book club tonight.
Salt & sugar topping
What makes these brownies so special is the salted caramel filling that is couched between two layers of brownie. Then, the top is sprinkled with a blend of Fleur de Sel and Demerara Sugar.
Fresh from the oven
Happy Birthday, Karen!

ReplyDeleteThese brownies are not fooling around! I can see myself finishing off at least half the pan in one sitting. (The Baked cookbooks never disappoint.)
