| Bursting with flavor! |
In the bowl of an electric ice cream maker, blend:
2 cups Tangerine Juice
1/4 cup Meyer Lemon Juice
Zest of one Tangerine and one Meyer Lemon
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Late Harvest Dessert Wine - we used this Ice Wine from Adelaida
Blend for 20 - 25 minutes until it reaches desired consistency.
Transfer to a covered bowl and freeze for at least 1 hour before enjoying.
This sorbet is such a treat. It's super intense flavor reminded me of the fresh squeezed orange juice we enjoyed on Delos Island on our Honeymoon. Even though we were on an island, it felt like we were in a desert - it was hot & dry and there was absolutely no breeze. After walking through the amazing ruins and fields for 2 hours, we were so thirsty! As luck would have it, the museum cafe offered fresh orange juice - I'd swear it was the best I've ever had!
Enjoy!

This sorbet looks amazing! If I had time, I'd make some with blood oranges that a friend gave me just yesterday. Alas, only 24hrs in the day...not enough time to cook everything I want to make! CC
ReplyDeleteSounds so refreshing! Perfect for the spring :)
ReplyDeleteYour sorbet looks so refreshing, Susan! Wish I had a bowl right now :).
ReplyDeleteWow, the color is so vibrant and beautiful! I can't wait till it's actually sorbet weather...it's wickedly cold here today :/
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sorbet. The colour is amazing. Great job. I would love a dish of that!
ReplyDeleteI love citrus season - it is definitely the bright spot of the winter that never seems to end :-)
ReplyDeleteTangerine and grapefruit are two of my absolute favorite ice cream flavors, a choice not many understand. This ice cream is wonderful, and I even have the rest of the late harvest I used to caramelize grapes. Now, if could only get tangerines somewhere now...!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and refreshing dessert! Thank you so much for sharing. I have had a long day...and I needed something sweet to cheer me up. I hope you are well. Enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a unique combination of flavors but I bet it was really, really delicious. It's hot in Callie, isn't it? A treat like your sorbet would be just the ideal dessert. I love sorbets. Limoncello comes to mind because Michelle, Adriana and I made our own last year, remember. The sorbet had that same intense flavor.
